Our school was last inspected by Ofsted inspectors in March 2018 when we were once again judged to be a good school.

This is a fantastic result and one that we are all proud of, especially given the hard work put in by all the members of our school community; pupils, staff, governors and parents. We would like to thank you all for the work you have put in, and continue to put into our school, to maintain our constant drive for improvement.

Below, we have picked out some of the very many positive comments about our school, staff and governors.

  • You have worked with drive and determination to ensure a consistent approach to teaching and learning in order to improve outcomes for all pupils.
  • You have high aspirations for the pupils... and are determined to improve the opportunities and life chances for each and every one of them.
  • Leaders are enthusiastic and keen to make a difference.
  • All leaders clearly know the strengths of the school. Leaders have comprehensive action plans, which they use to drive further improvements.
  • Pupils’ progress is rigorously tracked and monitored. Those not making progress are quickly identified and appropriate support provided.
  • Additional adults provide effective support for those pupils who have special educational needs and/or disabilities.
  • Staff welcome the support and challenge. They are fully committed to developing their professional skills and deepening their subject knowledge.
  • [Governors] use their extensive range of skills and wealth of experience to hold leaders to account... and now offer a robust challenge.
  • The school is a calm and orderly place. Pupils were polite and helpful. Pupils have a good focus on their learning and try hard.
  • The culture of safeguarding is strong across the school.
  • The designated safeguarding lead is tenacious in following up any concerns.

We are all immensely proud of the achievement of all of our school community – this is a richly deserved result and is testament to the hard work by everyone, but it is only a milestone on our journey. We will continue our work to make Yenton School the best place it can possibly be for all of our children, to give all of our children the best possible start to their educational careers, and to foster in them a lifelong love of learning.
